Planning for the future is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your loved ones and ensure your wishes are honored. Whether you are setting up your estate plan for the first time or updating an existing one, our team is here to guide you every step of the way. We have designed a streamlined process that makes estate planning simple, efficient, and stress-free. Here’s what you can expect:
Step 1: Call with Our Intake Department
Your journey begins with a conversation with our friendly and knowledgeable Intake Team. During this call, we will:
· Discuss your case and estate planning goals.
· Walk you through what to expect next.
· Schedule your one-hour meeting with one of our experienced estate planning attorneys.
· Set up your secure MyCase portal, where you can conveniently upload documents, communicate with our team, and share confidential information.
Step 2: Receive Your Welcome Package
Once your consultation is scheduled, we will send you an educational Welcome Package that includes:
· Your client questionnaire to help us better understand your needs.
· Your attorney’s biography so you can get to know who you’ll be working with.
· Educational materials, including a book to help you make informed decisions.
· Directions to our office for your in-person meeting with your attorney or for when you visit us for your estate plan signing.
· Testimonials from satisfied clients who have trusted us with their estate planning needs.
· A Strategic Client Process Flowchart, outlining the entire estate planning process.
Step 3: Meet with Your Attorney
Your consultation is where we dive deep into the details of your estate plan. Whether you meet with your attorney via Zoom, conference call, or in person, you can expect to:
· Gain a clear understanding of the estate planning process.
· Discuss your personal goals and objectives.
· Collaborate with your attorney to design a customized estate plan that suits your family’s needs.
· Officially engage our services to move forward with your plan.
· Schedule your estate plan signing appointment.
Step 4: Review Your Estate Plan Documents
About 7-10 days before your estate planning document signing appointment, we will email you draft copies of your estate plan for your review. These documents include:
· Your Trust Summary, outlining the key details of your trust.
· A list of Names & Fiduciaries, ensuring the right people are designated to carry out your wishes.
· Your Advance Health Care Directive, so you can review certain key provisions ahead of your signing when you will make decisions such as the choice to prolong or not prolong life and decide on organ donation.
You will have the opportunity to review these documents and communicate any questions or concerns through your secure MyCase portal before finalizing everything.
Step 5: Signing Your Estate Plan Documents with One of Our Friendly Notaries
The final step in the process is your signing appointment, where your estate plan becomes legally binding. Here’s what will happen:
· Your attorney will check in with you at the start of your appointment.
· You will sign your estate planning documents in our office before one of our notaries.
· We will provide clear, written instructions on funding your trust and the next steps to take.
Your Future, Secured
Our goal is to make estate planning as easy and as stress-free as possible. With our structured process, expert guidance, and secure communication tools, you can have peace of mind knowing that your estate plan is in place to protect your legacy and loved ones.
